TwitterRevertRT - Chrome Extension to Restore Retweet Functionality
TwitterRevertRT is a Chrome extension that allows users to revert the recent changes made to the retweet functionality on Twitter. Since October 20, 2020, Twitter introduced a new feature where clicking the retweet button opens the quote tweet input screen, causing inconvenience for many users. Initially, this change was meant to be a temporary measure during the US presidential election, but it seems to have been extended due to the perceived benefit of curbing the spread of misinformation. However, for those who find the new retweet process cumbersome and bothersome, this Chrome extension offers a solution.
With TwitterRevertRT, when you click the retweet button, a context menu appears, allowing you to choose between a regular retweet or a quote tweet, just like the previous Twitter interface. Clicking "Retweet" enables you to retweet with a single click, without seeing the quote tweet input screen. If you prefer to add a quote tweet, simply click "Quote Tweet" to do so.
